SHOTCRETE
Shotcrete
shall consist of mixing and placing one or more courses on a prepared slope surface in accordance with this specification and in conformity with the lines, grades, dimensions and cross-sections shown on the plans or as established by the Engineer. (DPWH Blue Book Item 514)
It is a type of concrete that is sprayed onto a surface using a high-pressure air compressor. It is often used for repair and construction projects in hard-to-reach or complex areas where conventional pouring methods are not feasible.
ADVANTAGES USING GABIONS AND MATTRESSES

-
It can be applied easily in restricted areas at some distance from the access point.
-
It makes the structure less porous which increases the bond strength and also helps in lowering the construction time and reduces costs as well.
-
The process of shotcrete is more economical compared to conventional concrete which required formwork.
-
It is structurally strong and durable material, which is capable of getting an excellent bond with concrete, masonry, steel and other materials.
